On 6 November 2022, the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) officially opens in Sharm El Sheikh Bay, Egypt.COP27 will build on the outcomes of COP26 by taking action on a range of issues critical to addressing the climate emergency, including urgently reducing greenhouse gas emissions, building resilience and adapting to the unavoidable impacts of climate change, and delivering on commitments to finance climate action in developing countries.
In an ongoing response to the Global Youth Climate Week initiative “Together for a Zero Carbon Future” and the COP27 call for practical climate action in all countries, the UN Network of Regional Centres of Expertise in Education for Sustainable Development (Suzhou) (RCE Suzhou) invited nearly 50 leading experts in the field of “carbon” to meet in Suzhou.
